Frank Lawler is primarily a stage actor, and has performed on several stages in the Puget Sound region, including those of ACT, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Taproot, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Capitol Hill Arts Center, Secondstory Repertory, Theater Schmeater, Harlequin, Edge of the World / Phoenix Theatre, Sound Theatre Company, Next Step Theatre Group and the Microsoft Theatre Troupe. He trained with Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA. He currently serves on the board of directors of Strawberry Theatre Workshop.
Frank grew up in the Ottawa Valley region of Canada, on the border between Ontario and Quebec. He received a local bilingual education before winning a scholarship to Trinity College School. After graduating from Harvard University, where he studied visual arts and computer science (and spent his spare time acting, directing or designing with the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club), he worked in the software industry in Boston (at Cambridge Technology Group and The Chedd-Angier Production Company) and Seattle (Microsoft Corporation) for several years before switching careers to acting, a passion he had previously relegated to the sidelines.
